Uhuru Solidarity Movement National Convention 2013 resolves to build international “Days in Solidarity with African People”

Midler, the National Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement (USM), was addressing activists, organizers and supporters of African liberation gathered from June 15-16, 2013 in Akwaaba Hall at the Uhuru House, in St. Petersburg, FL.
The convention focused on mobilizing masses of white people to become active in the struggle for reparations to African people.
The Uhuru Solidarity Movement is an organization of Euro-Americans and allies working under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party.
“The racial divide is not about racism—it is about colonialism. It is about that first Dutch ship that landed on the shores of Africa. Racism was used as a justification for colonizing African people. If we’re interested in overturning the racial divide then we need to stand in solidarity with African liberation—with African resistance to colonialism, said Midler.
