Uhuru Solidarity Movement organizers from St. Petersburg and Miami, FL organized a contingent to Tampa on August 31, 2013 for a demonstration near the MacDill Air Force Base in opposition to the U.S. government’s imperial aggression towards the people of Syria.
Armed with the latest issue of the Burning Spear newspaper, our comrades took a stand of solidarity with Syrian resistance and expressed unity with the statement issued by the Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations which states: “It is not enough to simply call for an end to war. We must call for victory to the Syrian people. Victory to the Arab masses.”
USM will be returning to Tampa, FL on next Saturday, September 7th, 6pm, for another anti-war demonstration, to be held at Dale Mabry and Gandy Blvd. We encourage our members and supporters to join us in calling for victory to Syria against US colonial assaults.
On Sunday, September 8th, at 4pm, we invite you to join us at the Uhuru House, 1245 18th Ave S., for a special forum held by the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement, featuring Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African Socialist International, who will be addressing the war on Syria. This is an event that you do not want to miss.
